Guidelines for YUWIE new users

I decided to concentrate here in my blog some info I've been producing and modifying.

This is a document I send to all my referrals, all levels. My idea is to give some initial information for newbies. The first reaction people have after registering may be to feel confused, when looking to very well developed profiles.

Here you find a portuguese version, which is more developed than the english one.
I'm hoping to have your comments to make this document even better, this is always a work-in-progress.

INDICAÇÕES PARA OS NOVOS UTILIZADORES

Olá,

Seja bem-vindo(a) ao YUWIE.

Eu sou o Antonio e estou na sua “upline”, ou seja, registou-se no YUWIE usando o meu link de referência ou o link de referência de alguém da minha rede.

Eu estou aqui para ajudar a atingir os seus objectivos com o YUWIE, quer eles sejam explorar a parte de negócio deste site ou simplesmente divertir-se. Aliás, espero que consiga aliar as duas componentes, já que o YUWIE é divertido.

O YUWIE paga segundo a actividade desenvolvida por si e pela sua rede de referidos, até 10 níveis. A actividade é medida pelas “page views”. Basicamente, quando visita um perfil, ganha 1 page view. Se deixar um comentário depois de esperar 3 segundos, o seu visitado ganha também um “page view”. Contam também os comentários a fotos e blogs. Por isso tendemos a retribuir os comentários que nos deixam.

Deve sempre orientar-se pelo “Control Panel”. Quando deixar comentários ou mensagens, faça-o sempre depois de visualizar o perfil do visitado.

Alguns conselhos úteis para quem começa:

1) Construa um perfil interessante. Assim terá mais visitas. Não use um perfil privado. Permita a toda a gente deixar-lhe comentários, não limite aos amigos. Se não gostar de alguma coisa, pode sempre apagar o comentário ou bloquear o utilizador que o mandou.
2) Ao nível dos “settings”, permita que toda a gente “Everyone” lhe mande comentários e mensagens. Mas coloque Yes em “Approve comments before they're posted?”. No processo de aprovação de comentários vai ganhar “page
Views”.

3) Não carregue demasiado o seu perfil. Se este demorar muito tempo a abrir, vai afastar os visitantes e vai receber menos comentários. Por exemplo, se colocar uma playlist, não coloque muitas músicas nem deixe arrancar imediatamente. Não coloque demasiados vídeos nem fotos muito pesadas. Coloque news na parte inferior do perfil, pois ajuda o YUWIE a ganhar dinheiro, mas não faz demorar a abertura da página.

4) Aceite todos os pedidos de amigos que receber. Mais amigos dão mais visitas. Pode sempre bloquear utilizadores, se algum amigo fizer algo que não lhe agrada. Não me tem acontecido.

5) Convide o maior número possível de pessoas para aderir ao YUWIE, com o seu referral link. O principal factor para ganhar dinheiro com o YUWIE é construir uma rede de referidos activos. Amigos, conhecidos, colegas, amigos de outras redes, como o hi5, orkut ou myspace (atenção com este último, pois elimina referências ao YUWIE em vários pontos). Tem agora uma ferramenta excelente para isso, se precisar de ajuda diga-me.

6) Se tiver referidos, passe-lhes estas instruções e sensibilize-os para convidarem amigos por sua vez. Ajude-os o mais que puder e motive-os a serem activos. Eu darei uma ajuda. A ideia é que cada referido reproduza o trabalho que estamos a
fazer. Peça nas “notices” ou aos seus amigos que façam “Add” dos seu novos referidos, e periodicamente, dos seus referidos activos. Isto vai ajudar a motivá-los a manterem-se no YUWIE.

7) Convide amigos com o “Add as a Friend”. Eu costumo convidar os novos membros do YUWIE através da página Home. Mas a melhor ideia é convidar os utilizadores que encontramos “online” nas páginas que visitamos. Estes aceitam mais depressa e o nosso número de amigos aumenta mais rapidamente, com membros do YUWIE que em princípio até são activos.

8) Retribua as visitas e os “rate” que lhe fazem. Deixe-lhes comentários e faça-lhes rate também. Coloque os visitantes mais frequentes nos seus “50 top friends”. Vai ajudá-los a serem visíveis.

9) Dê os parabéns aos seus amigos do YUWIE que fazem anos. Os amigos activos agradecem.

10) Utilize as “notices”. Todos os seus amigos vêem a mensagem e alguns vão visitar o seu perfil.

11) Se não tiver objecções, coloque uma foto pessoal no perfil e na “shoutbox”. Não deixe o perfil sem foto, em último recurso deixe um Avatar.

12) Muito importante: aceda pelo “control panel” aos perfis. Para deixar um comentário, não use o “Leave Comment”. Faça “View Profile” ou clique na foto. Espere 3 segundos antes de qualquer acção. Faça “Leave Comment”. Volte ao mesmo perfil e faça rate. Espere que a página volte ao perfil. Eu depois disto geralmente ainda faço uma “Action” ao amigo, volto ao perfil, e aí escolho para fazer “add as a friend” os amigos que estão online, ou os que deixaram os comentários mais recentes. Penso que desta forma se consegue o maior número de page views para o amigo visitado e para nós.

Lembre-se que o crescimento do YUWIE é importante para aumentar as receitas da publicidade, que são distribuídas pelos utilizadores. Ajude todos, não importa que sejam da sua rede ou não.

GUIDELUINES FOR NEW USERS

Welcome to YUWIE!.

My name is Antonio and i’m in your “upline” here. That means , you registered in YUWIE using my reference link or the reference link of some member of my network.

I’m here to help you to accomplish your objectives with YUWIE. If you are interested in exploring the business component of this site or simply have some fun. Anyway, I hope you can join the two components, YUWIE is fun.

YUWIE pays according your activity and your referral network activity, down to 10 levels. The activity is measured by page views. Basically, when you visit a profile you get a page view. If you leave a comment or a message after waiting 3 seconds, you and the profile owner win a page view. Comments to photos and blos also count as page views. For that reason we retribute the comments that our friends leave us.

You should always go through “Control Panel”. When you leave comments, always display the profile and leave the comment from there.

Some useful advice for beginners:

1) Build an interesting profile. That way you will be attracting visitors. Do not use a private profile. Allow all user to leave you comments, do not limit accepted comments to friends. If somebody sends you something you don’t like, you always may delete the comment or block the user who sent it.
2) Do not overload your profile. If it takes too long to open, your visitor will be discouraged and you will receive less comment. For instance, if you put a playlist in your profile, do not load a lot of songs. Do not open the playlist automatically. Do not use news in your shoutbox.
3) Accept every friend request you receive. More friends will give you more profile visits. You can always block a user later on.
4) Invite a lot of people to join YUWIE with your referral link. The main factor for earning in YUWIE is to build a network of active referrals, specially with some “big hitters”. Friends, collegues, friends from other networks like hi5, orkut or myspace (notice that this last one damages references to YUWIE, you have to use some tricks.
5) If you have referrals, send them these instructions and motivate them to invite their friends. Help them to the maximum and motivate them to be active. The ideia is that every referral may be able to reproduce the work that you are doing.
6) Invite friends with “Add Friend”. I use to invite the new YUWIE members I find from the Home page. It’s a good idea to invite users we find online in the profiles we visit. These users accept the invitation sooner, and our number of friends grows rapidly, and with friends that are in principle active users.
7) Pay back comments and rates that your friends make to you. Leave them comments and rate them. Use your “50 top friends” to put your frequent visitors, you are helping them by making them visible.
8) Send birthday comments to friends. Active friends will like it.
9) Use “notices”. All your freinds receive the message and some of them will visit your profile.
10) If you don’t have objections, upload a personal photo for your profile and shoutbox. Don’t leave your profile without a photo, use an Avatar in the last case.

Remember, YUWIE growth is important to raise the advertising revenue that is distributed by users. Help everybody, it does not matter if they are in your network or not.

Social networking sites - my experience

MY EXPERIENCE WITH YUWIE

I joined this social networking site on September last year, after receiving an invitation from Matthew. I didn’t know him, but as I am a “open networker”, I’m open to receive invites.

It was a pleasant surprise I received some requests for friendship in the next hour or so, and as well some mails wit suggestions for things to do. One was to add some friends. I had a good surprise; most of them accepted me almost instantly.

I spent some of my time on the site doing a couple of things: seeing my friend’s profiles, where I found several interesting things, adding the friends I saw online at these pages, and sending “thanks for the add” messages.
What really surprised me was the level of interaction I’ve been getting in the first days. I remembered when I joined MySpace, Hi5 or Orkut, I didn’t have such a number of friend requests, messages or comments. I was amazed.

What could I do next? What could make sense? I wanted a good looking profile like the ones I’ve seen. My first idea was to look at the way I could use to change my layout. I said, I want a layout with guitars on it. Made a search on layouts, find a nice layout with a Stratocaster on it. The black background made the white text relatively easy to read, so that was my first layout.

In the mean time, I kept adding friend I found in Home page, answering my mail and comments, and started browsing to see if there were already users from Portugal. I found just a few and added them.

Between these users, I found a Portuguese friend that had more experience than I had with online business. We exchanged some info, and he gave me important knowledge about Pay-to-read and Pay-to-click Sites. I’ll make an article on that when I have a chance; I think it is important to know how to recognize honest sites from the rest.

Interesting things I found for my page

The Playlist Player

Found easily that if I clicked on the player in another page, I went to a page called Project Playlist. I registered there. The process of creating my playlist was very straightforward.
I started trying to find some good Portuguese music available to include in my playlist.
Always found I have as an obligation to make my culture known outside borders. In a global world, our greatest value is the cultural diversity. As the music industry and the media contribute to standardize the musical tastes, I think it is a good service to my friends if they can “taste” different music styles.

Unfortunately, I was not very lucky. I could find Mariza, a fado” singer who won several prizes in world music, but not much more. At least for my criteria about what I consider good music.

For that reason, I made my first playlist using tracks from some of my favourite guitar players, like Doc Watson, Merle Travis, Django Reinhardt. Left the Portuguese music for later use (it is actually in my profile).

Guestbook

Found the guestbook interesting in several pages. Having my friend’s pictures from all over the world show like a slide show and having the locations in the map was a nice idea for me. So I did a similar process as I used for the playlist. Got the code for my page, used the feature to put it automatically at MySpace, and started asking my friends to sign my guestbook, by leaving some notices.

After I decided I had a decent profile, I started inviting some friends. Using the standard invite feature that let us to enter the emails. I had a poor response from my friends, but I’m not surprised with that. I didn’t have the notion I had to take care of referrals, though my friends would show the same interest I had in the site. Could not be more wrong

One of my best decisions was to show my page personally to two friends of mine. One of them was a Hi5 fan, I had introduced it to her some time ago, and she showed it to the second. I helped both to register and showed how they could add the guestbook, the playlist, and so on. Now they are the most valuable members of my downline.
